Deepinder Goyal Opens Temple Wearable Pre-Orders in India at Rs 85,000

Temple pre-orders opened in India on 1 November 2026 at Rs 85,000, with made-to-order deliveries in about three months.

Temple has opened pre-orders in India for its brain monitoring wearable, with the Indian booking window opening on 1 November 2026 at 9.30 pm IST. Buyers can order through the Temple app or the company website, and the device is listed at Rs 85,000 in India in the app.

The opening matters because Temple is not a mass market gadget launch. It is the first public sale of a made to order device from a new health technology venture led by Deepinder Goyal, the founder of Zomato and Eternal.

What buyers actually get for Rs 85,000

Temple is a small pill shaped wearable that sticks to the side of the head, between the forehead and the ear, using adhesive grips. The company says it tracks signals linked to cerebral blood flow and oxygenation through the day.

Early access listings show the Rs 85,000 price includes a lifetime subscription to the software platform. That detail matters for buyers, because it means the headline price is not followed by a separate recurring fee for the core software experience.

One point still needs care at checkout. Some listings do not clearly establish whether Rs 85,000 is the final device price or an advance payment, so buyers should check the final amount shown before they confirm an order.

A made to order launch, not a shelf launch

Temple will not sit on retail shelves for this first batch. Each unit is made to order, and the company expects delivery in about three months from the date of purchase, with pre-orders refundable until shipment.

The device comes in six finishes, namely True Gold, Rose Gold, Black Mirror, Real Jade, Deep Blue and Purple Funk. Three of those finishes are limited editions, which fits a launch aimed at early buyers rather than the widest possible audience.

The global pre-order window also opened on 1 November, with different opening times in each region. India opened at 9.30 pm IST, while buyers in other regions opened earlier or later in their local time.

Why Temple is starting with a narrow idea

Temple frames its work around a measure it calls Entropy, which it describes as how hard the body is working to shed heat, read from the temple. At rest, the company says, that reading shows the load the body is carrying across several systems.

From that resting reading and the highest reading sustained near maximum heart rate, Temple builds a single number it calls Span. The idea is to give users one daily picture of how their body is doing, rather than a long list of separate readings.

That framing comes from the company itself, and readers should treat it as the company position for now. The underlying idea grew out of Goyal’s research into gravity and circulation, and independent testing of the device is still the question early buyers will watch.

The funding and manufacturing behind the launch

Temple was started in 2024 and raised 54 million dollars in seed funding in February 2026 at a post money valuation of 190 million dollars. Steadview Capital, Vy Capital, Info Edge and Peak XV Partners took part, alongside more than 30 Temple employees who invested their own money.

That backing gave Temple room to build its own sensors and run studies before selling a single unit. In May 2026, the company partnered with Zetwerk and Ethereal Machines to scale production of its wearable hardware for this launch.

A later employee stock liquidity programme in July 2026 valued Temple at 375 million dollars, nearly double the February valuation. That rise shows how much belief early backers and employees placed in the venture before it reached paying customers.

For now, the test is simple and practical. Temple must show that a made to order device at a premium price can reach buyers on time, that the checkout price matches the listed price, and that daily use feels useful enough to justify the cost.
