Cross Border Fintech Startup HiWi Raises INR 7.25 Crore In Pre-seed Funding

Mumbai-based cross-border fintech startup HiWi raised INR 72.5 Crore in its pre-seed funding round. The funding round was led by Unicorn India Ventures and the Unmaj Group Family Office.

Founded in 2022 by Dewang Neralla, Geeta Chauhan, and Ujwal Tamminedi, HiWi is a global platform targeting students from countries like India, China, Vietnam, the Philippines, and more. Apart from that, HiWi also provides cross-border payment solutions to both businesses and individuals.

It acts as a bridge between students and study abroad agents to help students with various financial services like transferring funds, opening foreign bank accounts, managing card payments, and earning loyal points.

As per the startup, it aims to help more than 25,000 students by the year 2025 by onboarding more than 5,000 educational consultants to its platform. The raised funds will be used to build their MVP and also for the go-to market strategy.
