As new parents will attest, shopping for a child can be an exhausting affair.
Kids’ products, whether clothes, hygiene essentials, toys, educational accessories, or anything else, are hard to choose. Good quality products are often expensive and inaccessible. And even after spending days picking the perfect product for your little ones, you’ll soon find they have outgrown it!
Small children grow rapidly, both physically and psychologically. Replacing their clothes, toys, etc so often isn’t only cumbersome for parents but also a danger to the environment.
Meet Yobler, a kids’ essentials platform that caters to every kind of product you may need for your munchkin.
Yobler is born of the hard work and passion of two women, who are mothers themselves, Swarna Daga Mimani and Neha Goenka Shroff.
Friends, Mothers, Business Partners
Let’s take a closer look at the brilliant women who founded Yobler. Neha Shroff, an enthusiastic, qualified MSc, and ACA, worked in London and New York for PwC and UBS, respectively.
“You proved the power of silence,” she was once told.
She created Momente Weddings in 2011 after identifying gaps in the wedding business. She discovered a need for a simple way to buy/sell pre-loved children’s items after the birth of her son. She enjoys reading and excels under pressure.
Swarna, an achiever, holds a B.E. from the VNIT in Nagpur and an MBA from IIMB. She has worked at both Aloe Private Equity and Barings Private Equity. She co-created eWards (SaaS-based customer engagement solutions) and founded Social Neeti (digital marketing), among other businesses.
The ideas of secondhand and sustainable kids’ products connected with her as a mother of a 7-year-old. Yobler is a pan India website, having offices in Mumbai and Kolkata.
A Two-Woman Journey
Swarna and Neha are childhood buddies. Like everyone else, the duo had an opportunity to catch up on their busy lives due to covid.
Being moms of children around the age of five at the time, they had numerous coffee talks during which they discussed the ideal world they would like their children to grow up in and the challenges they faced as mothers of young children.
These discussions spurred the entrepreneurial spirit in both of them. They felt all modern parents face particular issues like children outgrowing their clothes and toys very quickly. Putting their experience and skills to it, the women came up with Yobler.
“We strongly believe in our vision of creating a more sustainable future with reduced waste and being able to give a chance to kids and mothers everywhere to be able to fulfil their aspirations with access to goods and affordable deals. Yobler is more than a baby of passion and love, Yobler is the future! When you need something for your kids, #YoblerIt”
It goes without saying that the voyage was difficult. The most significant problem was choosing the technology to meet the needs because there was no other platform like it.
Getting to Know Yobler Better
Yobler is an online marketplace that connects parents, enables them to buy/sell pre-loved children’s items at lower prices, and promotes sustainable living.
The firm seeks to address a wide range of issues and difficulties. This includes:
- Time constraints: Working parents desire quick deals and rapid fixes
- Lack of resources: Kids’ items are expensive, and their demands and wants are continually expanding due to exposure to the outside world.
- Lack of space: Urban homes lack space to store outgrown and duplicate/unwanted items.
- High churn rate for products: children soon outgrow sizes and interests.
- Sustainability: Promoting a better environment with less landfill waste and educating and inspiring children to lead sustainable lives
The idea is to use an online marketplace platform to address the problems of excess and outgrown products. By enabling people to buy and sell used or new goods without worrying about logistics or other transactional details, it will empower parents.
It is a move in the right direction toward greater sustainability and less environmental impact. With the help of its Reduce, Reuse, and Upcycle principles, Yobler is dedicated to bringing about a dynamic change in life. As a result, parents can satisfy their shopaholic urge to buy for their kids while saving time, money, and space.
The Yobler team’s professionalism, tolerance, and “people first” mentality aid in finding solutions to problems as quickly as feasible. Yobler’s MVP was soft-launched in April 2022, and the founders have received great results.
