Renowned ex-Indian cricketer MS Dhoni has recently made an undisclosed investment in the fitness startup Tagda Raho, aimed at promoting traditional training methods.
Established in 2020 by Rishabh Malhotra, Tagda Raho specializes in fitness programs that blend ancient Indian workout tools like Gada, Mudgars, Vajra, and Sumtola with contemporary training techniques.
Dhoni’s partnership with Tagda Raho is anticipated to facilitate the startup’s expansion across India. Presently, the startup operates training centers in Bengaluru and is set to inaugurate its first center in Maharashtra next month. The company has ambitious plans to broaden its reach by establishing centers in four to five more states in the coming year.
Additionally, Tagda Raho offers these traditional training tools for sale on its website, enabling fitness enthusiasts to access and utilize these age-old yet effective fitness instruments.
Speaking on the collaboration, Dhoni expressed his support for promoting indigenous fitness equipment and techniques,
“Happy to invest in Tagda Raho – The brand that is reinventing India Ka Apna Workout. I believe in investing in startups and homegrown brands that I can help grow from a grassroot level. I am very excited to be part of the brand’s vision in expanding and taking the workout to all corners of the country.”, said Mahendra Singh Dhoni on his Facebook post.
This investment aligns with Dhoni’s growing interest in ventures outside cricket, leveraging his influence and experience to contribute to diverse industries.
The partnership between MS Dhoni and Tagda Raho reflects a shared vision of promoting indigenous fitness methodologies and is poised to bring about a resurgence of interest in these age-old training tools among the masses.
