Getepay has made history by becoming the first fintech company from Rajasthan to receive approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to operate as an Online Payment Aggregator.
This significant milestone not only enhances the legitimacy of Getepay but also positions it as a key player in the digital payments landscape of India.
Since its inception, Getepay has successfully onboarded over 1.5 million merchants. The platform caters to a diverse clientele, including Kirana shops, e-commerce businesses, educational institutions, service providers, and small manufacturers.
With a strong emphasis on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), Getepay aims to simplify digital payment processes, making them more accessible and secure for all merchants.
Plans for National Expansion
With the RBI license secured, Getepay has ambitious plans for national expansion. The company intends to enhance its product offerings and bring many more small businesses, especially from Tier 2, Tier 3, and rural areas, onto its digital commerce platform.
Founder and CEO Pravin Sharma expressed that this approval is a testament to Getepay’s commitment to fostering an inclusive digital economy. He believes that every small merchant deserves access to efficient digital tools, regardless of their location.
Angel investor Mahavir Pratap Sharma commented that Getepay stands out in the FinTech space due to its strong roots in Bharat.
He emphasized that the RBI license adds credibility to the firm and believes it will play a crucial role in transforming how small merchants engage with India’s digital economy.
Strategic Focus Areas
Getepay’s strategic priorities include enabling merchants with advanced services such as digital storefronts, inventory management, and GST billing solutions tailored for grassroots entrepreneurs.
The company also aims to support the formalization of over 10 million micro and small businesses, potentially driving significant economic growth from the informal sector.
Further, Getepay plans to create job opportunities through the expansion of agent networks and support teams. The platform is dedicated to promoting inclusive growth by enhancing access to digital financial services, particularly for women-led businesses and rural entrepreneurs.
Designed to function in low-bandwidth regions, Getepay’s technology is mobile-first and language-agnostic, ensuring it is accessible to a wider audience.
