Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has announced the appointment of Bhawna Agarwal as the Senior Vice President and Managing Director for its India operations, effective immediately.
This transition marks a significant leadership change as Agarwal takes over from Som Satsangi, who is retiring after a remarkable 27-year tenure with the company. Satsangi, who has been instrumental in HPE India’s growth since becoming the Managing Director in 2016, will assist in the transition until the end of July 2025.
A Focus on Growth and Innovation
In her new role, Agarwal expressed her enthusiasm for leading HPE India. She stated, “I am honored to take on the role of Managing Director of HPE India.
I look forward to building on the strong foundation laid by Som and continuing to drive growth, scaling our impact and innovation in the region.” Her vision includes achieving new milestones and delivering exceptional value to customers and partners through collaboration with her team.
Agarwal joined HPE in 2019, bringing over 25 years of experience from various sectors, including digital startups and major technology firms. In her previous role, she led the Compute Business Unit and Growth team, overseeing account management and industry verticals within India. Her extensive background positions her well to lead HPE as it strengthens its foothold in the Indian market.
Strategic Alignment with Government Initiatives
This leadership change comes at a pivotal time for HPE, as the company deepens its commitment to the Indian market. The firm is actively aligning its strategic initiatives with the government’s “Make in India” campaign. Earlier this year, Agarwal and Satsangi celebrated a notable achievement by rolling out HPE’s 6001st ‘Made in India’ server, highlighting the company’s dedication to local manufacturing.
As one of the largest HPE operations outside the United States, HPE India is set to enhance its offerings in cloud, networking, and artificial intelligence. With Agarwal in the team, the focus will likely shift towards scaling cloud innovations and advancing local R&D capabilities, ensuring HPE remains a key player in India’s dynamic digital landscape.
