Garuda Aerospace, the drone manufacturer backed by MS Dhoni, is venturing into offline retail by opening its first flagship retail store in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
This move is supported by the introduction of their innovative “Service on Wheels” offering, making after-sales service more convenient.
Garuda Aerospace is aiming to expand its presence with at least 400 retail outlets and mobile drone centers across India in 2024, further solidifying its position as one of India’s top drone startups. These flagship stores will provide high-quality drones with a focus on India’s agriculture sector.
Speaking about this development, Agnishwar Jayaprakash, the Founder and CEO of Garuda Aerospace, stated,
“Our entry into offline sales is a significant milestone for us. This investment brings us closer to our target customers and enhances their experience. We are dedicated to revolutionizing the drone industry and fostering a culture of innovation across India. We aim to inspire the next generation of innovators and contribute to India’s technological progress on a global scale.”
Garuda Aerospace recently secured INR 25 crore in funding from Venture Catalysts, WeFounderCircle, and other investors in a bridge round.
The funds will be used to meet the rising demand for drones, including a significant order from the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Ltd (IFFCO) for 400 agricultural drones, as well as pre-bookings of 10,000 drones from dealers nationwide. Part of the funds will also support Garuda Aerospace’s retail expansion plans.
With this strategic move into offline retail and its commitment to technological advancement, Garuda Aerospace is poised to play a pivotal role in the growth of the drone industry in India.
The introduction of flagship stores and mobile service centers will make their products more accessible and provide customers with a unique and convenient experience. This expansion is a testament to their dedication to fostering innovation and contributing to India’s technological progress.
