Pod hotel startup Naptapgo has successfully raised Rs 2 crore (approximately $233,000) in a pre-seed funding round, led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV). The startup, co-founded by Nitin Malhotra and Himanshu Shukla, aims to transform the affordable accommodation landscape in India.
Expansion Plans in Key Urban Areas
Naptapgo’s funding will be directed towards enhancing its franchise development, marketing strategies, and technology integration. The startup seeks to scale its operations across major urban centers and religious locations, which are often frequented by budget-conscious travelers.
Presently, Naptapgo operates in the National Capital Region (NCR) and has ambitious plans to establish properties in Gurugram, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Katra, and Amritsar, aiming for a total of 20 properties by the end of FY27.
The startup’s unique model caters to the needs of modern travelers with flexible check-in options and hourly stays. Notably, Naptapgo has reported a significant achievement of 65% direct bookings through its website and WhatsApp channel, highlighting its effective customer engagement strategies.
Founders with Strong Industry Background
Nitin Malhotra, who has previously worked with Texas Instruments and ST Microelectronics, and Himanshu Shukla, with experience at Chaayos and Jaypee Resorts, bring a wealth of expertise in technology and hospitality to Naptapgo.
Their combined knowledge is expected to drive the company’s innovative approach to affordable lodging.
Additionally, Naptapgo has garnered strategic support from Balmer Lawrie and received an endorsement from industrialist Anand Mahindra, further validating its business model. As the startup prepares to enhance its offerings and expand its presence, it aims to redefine budget accommodation in India, making travel more accessible for a broader audience.
