The growth of the Indian software industry is an example of how economic liberalization mixed with an entrepreneur mindset may result in a sector that now contributes up to 8% of the GDP of a rapidly developing country like India.
In India, the IT industry has produced more than four million direct employment and 12 million indirect jobs.
As technology seeps more profound into the world economy and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) cultivate more IT-based business models, there’s a gap of knowledge that needs to be filled. Digitalization can be expensive and also daunting for many people.
Digitalized business models and product development require the guidance of IT experts. This is exactly what Sofyrus has created a name for.
Sofyrus Technologies was founded by Zainab and Aslam Khan in 2014. It is based out of Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. The company urges everyone not to judge it by its ‘small town base’, and see its innovative work and dedication to itself. Therefore, let’s find out more about them.
Starting With Passion And Prowess
Before Sofyrus, Aslam and Zainab would work freelancing gigs together. The founders created a CRM (Client Relationship Management tech) for a client on Upwork. They worked on another project to develop a softphone. These projects provided them with the assurance that they could tackle enterprise-level needs.
Soon, they built a slurry of customers from outside India. The duo established a crew to work with to work smoothly on these international projects.
Based on their experience, they discovered that the Indian freelancer network was not very dependable. International customers were looking for a team to finish their projects on time and give high-quality solutions.
The team thrived due to decentralization, which allows individuals from small towns and underserved areas to learn how digital businesses operate and even work for one.
What’s Behind The Tech-savvy Team?
Aslam is a strong business and project leader with a track record of B2B product development success. He is a passionate and dedicated leader of Sofyrus Technologies, along with being its co-founder.
Sofyrus has led the implementation of several large-scale projects with revenues in the millions of dollars for customers in the Healthcare, High-Tech, and Ed-Tech industries.
Aslam is an outspoken supporter of PDaaS (Product Development as a Service) and agile methodologies. Digital transformation initiatives for start-ups, scale-ups, and corporations across numerous regions are part of his portfolio.
He enjoys teaching coding and digital product development to teens and college students outside of work.
Today, Sofyrus has a team of 17 enthusiastic individuals. Together, they are dedicated to demonstrating the power of small businesses.
The Core Principle Behind Sofyrus
In 2014, when IT adoption was gaining traction throughout the world. CRM, ERP, and other information technologies were not well understood by small and medium firms. Those that were aware of the problem were unwilling to invest large sums of money in their digital transformation efforts.
Sofyrus’ founder duo, two young engineers, decided they will take the potential of freelancing by Indian engineers and turn it into something more organized. Sofyrus was conceived as a result of their collaboration.
Aslam and Zainab reasoned that if they could make decent money as freelancers, they could certainly make a lot more money by building a team. In order to have a key presence and gain more customers, they first opened an office in Delhi. However, the plan failed and Sofyrus returned to its hometown of Aligarh.
The duo continued continuing because of their enthusiasm and will to succeed, and they eventually opened another office in Aligarh and began working with foreign customers.
The company received orders from the United States, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, Australia, and many other countries across the world. During this time, Sofyrus also received 1.2 million INR in investment from an Angel Investor. One of Sofyrus’ clients, for whose product development Sofyrus was crucial, gained funding of 1.2 million too.
How Does Sofyrus Help?
Sofyrus works as an extension of a company’s core product development team.
The problem with digital transformation for a business is that it’s quite expensive, and typical solutions aren’t always appropriate for such businesses. They require customized, cost-efficient solutions. Sofyrus delivers on both fronts without sacrificing quality.
Sofyrus is built on the PDaaS (Product Development as a Service) structure, which entails a dedicated team of managers, developers, and testers delivering a comprehensive software solution for businesses.
Client companies may concentrate on their company rather than worrying about their software products’ creation, maintenance, and upgrades.
For flawless delivery, Sofyrus uses all of the best techniques, such as Agile methods and DevOps.
Recognition And Growth
Sofyrus started with a capital of $55,000 and now has yearly revenue of $1 million or more. In 2022, it plans to achieve a 10 million dollars dollar objective. It is currently swamped with inquiries due to Covid’s boost to the IT sector. Sofyrus is constantly trying to devise new solutions based on past experiences.
Sofyrus’s long-term goal is to establish itself as a premier software product development partner to businesses. It aims to participate in various joint ventures as a SaaS partner in the future.
