Uravu Labs, a deep-tech startup from India, has raised $2.3 million in a seed funding round. The funding comes from JITO Angel Network, Anicut Capital, Speciale Invest, and Rocketship.vc, Vesta, Spectrum Impact, ZNL Growth Fund, VERSO, Echo River Capital, and multiple high-net-worth individuals.
The startup has developed an innovative technology that creates high-quality drinking water from atmospheric moisture using only renewable energy. The company uses liquid desiccants to absorb moisture and recover it using solar, biomass, or waste heat to create fresh water.
The technology can produce tens of thousands of liters of water per day at an affordable cost, making it suitable for residential, commercial, and industrial operations.
Uravu Labs plans to use the funds to scale up its operations and forge new partnerships with leading players in the hospitality and beverage sector to expand its reach and impact.
The company aims to commercialize renewable water solutions and revolutionize the water industry with breakthrough technologies that create a sustainable future for everyone.
The funding round was supported by Rajat Mehta, Chairman of JITO Angel Network, who said that the technology has the potential to revolutionize the way we access and use water. He believes in the team’s ability to execute its vision and provide affordable and scalable water solutions.
Uravu Labs is making significant progress in its mission to revolutionize the water industry. The company has successfully installed its water technology capable of producing 5 LPD and 20 LPD, and it is now on track to deliver its most ambitious project, a 1000 LPD system. The design for this system is complete, and the company is moving forward with plans to begin testing and implementing further performance improvements.
The company is also expanding its reach globally, with plans for its first international pilot project in Japan. This pilot project will serve as the first reference point for Uravu Labs in Japan and open many doors for the company in the country.
With this expansion, the company is on its way to providing sustainable water solutions on a global scale.
Pardeep Garg, Co-Founder of Uravu Labs, said that the seed funding round validates their efforts and the potential of their technology to address the pressing issue of water scarcity. He added that the company is determined to establish and grow the Uravu brand and take its renewable water solutions to the next level.
