Venttup Raises $3 Million in Pre-Series A Round to Build Precision Manufacturing for Defence and Aerospace

Venttup has raised $3 million in a pre-Series A round led by Rainmatter and Unicorn India Ventures to build precision parts for defence and aerospace.

Bengaluru and Kochi based manufacturing startup Venttup has raised $3 million in a pre-Series A round co-led by Rainmatter by Zerodha and Unicorn India Ventures.

The company announced the round on 29 October 2026. It plans to expand its engineering team, set up a precision manufacturing facility in Bengaluru, and use artificial intelligence tools to improve sourcing and supplier intelligence.

From validation to production

Venttup describes itself as an Industries 5.0 startup. It runs a manufacturing as a service model that combines engineering design, specification standardisation, rapid prototyping, testing, validation and contract manufacturing for customers.

That work is done through a mix of in-house engineering and a network of verified small and medium manufacturing partners. The model lets Venttup take a part from design to production without owning every machine itself.

What the new facility will do

The planned Bengaluru facility will handle precision machining, turning and sheet metal production. It is aimed at energy transition, defence, aerospace and space work, where parts must meet tight tolerances and pass strict qualification.

The point of owning this capacity is speed. Venttup says the facility will shorten the move from component development and validation to production readiness and mass manufacturing for its customers.

The numbers behind the round

Since its seed round in 2024, Venttup says revenue has grown fivefold to Rs 10 crore in FY2025-26. It reports an order pipeline of about Rs 30 crore across energy transition, mobility and smart infrastructure.

The company also says it added more than 15 blue-chip customers in the past 12 months. Its previous round was a seed investment from Unicorn India Ventures in September 2024, whose size was not disclosed.

Founders who came from large engineering employers

Venttup was founded by Sandeep Nair, M. Wasim Ankli and Joseph Panakkal. The three founders previously worked at Hitachi Energy, Siemens, L&T, and Kalpataru Power, and the startup was incubated at Kerala Startup Mission.

That background shapes the pitch. Venttup is selling engineering judgement first, with factory capacity second, and its own site frames the work as indigenisation of critical components to cut dependence on imported parts.

A small cheque in a much larger manufacturing story

At $3 million, this is a modest round next to the scale of Indian manufacturing platforms. KeeVurds covered Zetwerk’s Rs 2,830 crore IPO, which showed how large the contract manufacturing opportunity in India has become.

Venttup is playing a different part of that story. It is earlier, smaller and focused on engineering led production for high specification sectors, rather than running a large marketplace for factory capacity.

India’s next phase of manufacturing growth requires strong engineering capabilities that can translate complex requirements into validated, production-ready components. At Venttup, we are building an engineering-first manufacturing company that brings together design standardisation, rapid prototyping, testing and scalable production through India’s capable MSME ecosystem.

That is how co-founder and chief executive Sandeep Nair described the approach, in a statement issued with the funding announcement.

What to watch next

The announcement does not disclose a valuation, and it names no customers. The test of this round will be whether the Bengaluru facility moves from validation work to qualified production, and whether the Rs 30 crore pipeline turns into repeat orders.

If it does, Venttup will have earned a place in supply chains where a failed part is expensive. If it does not, the round will read as a small bet on a large idea that still needs proof.
