Hyeglo Beauty Raises Rs 7 Crore in Seed Round Led by Sauce to Grow Skinified Beauty in India

Hyeglo Beauty has raised Rs 7 crore in a seed round led by Sauce to expand its skincare-infused makeup range across India.

Hyeglo Beauty has raised Rs 7 crore in a seed funding round led by Sauce. Giga Capital, Consumer Collective, Arjun Purkayastha and The Patient Capital also took part in the round. The direct-to-consumer beauty brand will use the money to deepen research and development and to launch new products.

The fresh capital will also support brand building and hiring as Hyeglo expands its range across colour cosmetics and skincare. The round was announced on 2 November 2026, only months after the April 2026 founding.

Indian women have been asked to choose between makeup that performs and products that are actually good for their skin. We do not think that trade-off should exist. We started with makeup because that is where the gap was widest, but our ambition is to define skinified beauty in India, from colour to care. This round lets us double down on R&D and take the category mainstream.

The quote above is from Kanupriya Ahluwalia, the founder and chief executive of Hyeglo Beauty. Her point captures the bet behind the brand, that makeup should care for skin while it performs. Hyeglo calls this approach skinified beauty, where skincare benefits sit inside makeup rather than beside it.

Makeup built around skincare actives

Hyeglo describes itself as a skincare-first beauty brand for ingredient-conscious buyers. Its products combine clinically tested ingredients, skincare actives and pigments, with active ingredients used at concentrations meant to be effective. The aim is makeup that still delivers colour and finish while also supporting skin health.

Product development follows a skin science-led approach, with dermatological expertise and professional consultations shaping the formulations. The brand works with experts including Dr Sonal Tibrewal Garg, a doctor of medicine in dermatology. That input matters because skinified beauty fails quickly if the skincare claim does not survive daily use.

The early range already shows the idea in practice. Its Tintelligence Skin Adaptive Tinted Moisturiser pairs coverage with skincare, while its lip oil stains add colour through a skincare-led format. A festive collaboration with Savorworks in October 2026 put those products into curated hampers alongside coffee and lifestyle items.

A founder who knows the beauty shelf

Hyeglo was founded by Kanupriya Ahluwalia, who brings nine years of experience in the beauty industry across India and the Middle East. She has previously worked with brands and businesses including Nykaa, Kay Beauty, Noon and Namshi. That background covers beauty retail and brand building.

Ahluwalia also holds an MBA in premium brand management and has spent her career building beauty brands from the ground up. Her launch message framed the brand around intention rather than trends. The seed round now gives that positioning a larger stage to prove itself.

Why Sauce backed the brand early

Sauce is a consumer-focused investor founded in 2019 by Manu Chandra, and it has built a portfolio spanning Mokobara, The Whole Truth, Supertails and XYXX. Its earlier beauty bet Innovist was acquired by L’Oréal, generating an estimated Rs 500 crore to Rs 550 crore in proceeds for Sauce.

Sauce partner Yash Dholakia has said the most valuable consumer brands create the category they go on to lead. In Hyeglo, Sauce is backing a founder it believes can shape skinified beauty in India. Giga Capital and Consumer Collective add further consumer-brand experience to the round.

Early recognition before the seed round

Hyeglo launched on 28 July 2026. Within weeks of launch, its Skin Tint received the Most Innovative Product of the Year award, according to the brand. Hyeglo was also named an IMAGINE finalist in BEAUTY&YOU India 2026, a programme run with Nykaa and Startup India.

Those early markers do not guarantee a lasting brand, but they show buyers and judges noticed Hyeglo before this round. The seed capital must now turn that attention into repeat purchases and a wider product range.

Readers can explore the brand on the Hyeglo Beauty website, which sets out its skincare-first philosophy and product range.
