LogiXair Raises Seed Funding From GrowthCap Ventures to Build Autonomous Cargo VTOLs for India

Hyderabad’s LogiXair has raised seed funding from GrowthCap Ventures and Honeywell alumni angels to build autonomous hybrid-electric cargo VTOLs.

Hyderabad-based deep-tech startup LogiXair has raised seed funding from GrowthCap Ventures to develop autonomous hybrid-electric VTOL aircraft for cargo logistics. Angel investors with professional backgrounds at Honeywell Aerospace joined the round.

The round size was not disclosed. LogiXair was founded by Bhanu Teja Chidura and Pulla Kapil and is building a new logistics layer for short-haul cargo movement across India.

What LogiXair is building

The company is developing vertical take-off and landing aircraft that can carry cargo up to 600 km without conventional runways. The aim is to connect metros, industrial hubs and Tier II and III cities with faster and more flexible freight options.

LogiXair says it has built six intellectual property assets at technology readiness level 6. Its engineering team has validated a hybrid-electric powertrain and flight-tested sub-scale prototypes of the aircraft platform.

The company works with the Defence Research and Development Organisation and other aerospace and defence manufacturers. Revenue from this defence engineering work supports its path to commercialising the cargo aircraft.

The L560 cargo aircraft

The flagship L560 is an autonomous hybrid-electric VTOL designed to carry up to 300 kg over 600 km. It pairs with modular cargo containers, autonomous ground handling and fleet operations software for end-to-end cargo movement.

The aircraft is built to take off and land from warehouse parking lots rather than airports. The company says this makes it a scalable addition alongside road, rail and conventional aviation for regional freight.

“Our vision is to build a new layer of logistics infrastructure that makes regional cargo transportation faster, more flexible and less dependent on traditional transportation networks. We are developing an integrated platform that combines autonomous aviation, hybrid-electric propulsion, and intelligent cargo handling. GrowthCap Ventures’ backing, together with support from experienced aerospace professionals, strengthens our journey towards building scalable aerial logistics infrastructure for India and global markets,” said Bhanu Teja Chidura, Co-founder, LogiXair.

Why this round matters

LogiXair’s raise comes after an August round backed by The Chennai Angels, the Kerala Angel Network and Lead Angels. Interest in cargo VTOLs is rising as India’s logistics market expands and the government pushes indigenous technology through its Rs 1 lakh crore Research, Development and Innovation scheme.

Short-haul aerial cargo could serve industrial corridors, remote manufacturing sites and defence logistics that road and rail serve poorly. The category has long been promised in India, but certified autonomous operations remain years away for most players.

The GrowthCap bet is really a bet on execution speed. LogiXair already has working prototypes and paying defence work, which is rare for an early-stage aerospace company. The honest test now is turning flight demos into a certified, commercial aircraft that flies real freight.
