Sanandan Sudhir (Sandy) is a distinguished design leader with more than two decades of experience in product design and development, setting up new design studios, and conceptualizing and carrying out new projects.
Sandy is a graduate of the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, and a recipient of numerous industrial design and engineering awards. He is a thought leader who is passionate about developing New Products with an IP strategy at the center.
With 23 Worldwide Patents (Granted) and more than 60 applied for, Sandy is an inventor at heart.
His invention, the patent-protected “On2CookTM”, is the smartest, fastest cooking appliance ever created. It has won numerous prestigious awards Globally.
As the Founder and President of On2Cook India Pvt. Ltd., Sandy is currently focused on launching the product in the market. He oversees the product’s design, development, and manufacturing, as well as its future product and intellectual property strategy.

What Led To On2Cook?
Sandy is a passionate cook who preferred eating home-cooked food and used to work late. When he was a bachelor, he bought a microwave as he thought it would help him cook quickly and efficiently.
However, he found that the food cooked in a microwave lacked the flavor of conventionally cooked food, but he did develop a taste for cooked vegetables and meats that retained their structure, texture, color, and moisture better than conventionally cooked food.
After some time, Sandy realized that he needed a product that combined the benefits of both microwave and conventional cooking methods.
Now, the biggest challenge was finding a product that could be used on both flame and microwaves as metal containers cannot be used in a microwave, and flame cooking cannot be done without a metal container.
After doing some market research, Sandy found that Indians and Russians spent almost double the global average time in the kitchen.
Furthermore, the addition of microwave ovens introduced a range of microwaveable plastic and glass containers, which was less sustainable.
Sandy also realized that the conventional ways of cooking resulted in the loss of color, texture, structure, and necessary water-soluble nutrients from food items.
Sandy’s vision was to transform the cooking space in households and commercial restaurants completely. He founded On2Cook, which combined the best of both worlds by browning with flame and cooking the food from inside using microwaves.
The goal was to provide a product that would cook healthy and nutritious food quickly and efficiently, without compromising on flavor, color, texture, or structure.
