Any repetitive task requiring total concentration can have a relaxing, meditative effect.
A rising number of resources in the culinary and mental health fields suggest that baking can accomplish more than just providing delicious comfort food.
Indeed, baking has been shown to offer therapeutic benefits that reduce anxiety and other mental health issues. Butter and sugar measurements, egg whisking, beating, and folding activities all clear the mind and help to reduce negative thought patterns.
Many of us have fond memories of baking from our childhood. We fondly remember our mothers and grandmothers whipping up tasty sweet treats for us.
However, baking is time-consuming and often requires full concentration, making it less and less common in our hectic, modern lives. Newer generations are victims of burnout, stress, and technological addictions, and are in dire need of more cleansing, therapeutic habits.
Orange Figs, a food brand, wants to bring back the magic of baking to people of all ages. Founded by Gopi Byluppala, the brand offers simple, kid-friendly baking kits that reinvent the concept of self-care baking.
“Never Eat Alone”
That’s the motto of Orange Figs’ founder, Gopi Byluppala. After launching a number of businesses, Gopi is currently the creator of Orange Figs, a ground-breaking start-up with headquarters in Hyderabad that seeks to educate, entertain, and motivate children to participate in kitchen activities. Children’s DIY baking kits developed by Orange Figs are offered as monthly or yearly subscriptions.
Orange Figs’ aim is to provide today’s kids with the wonderful therapeutic tool that is baking. Right now, getting youngsters interested in kitchen activities like baking and cooking is their top priority.
The Founding Story
Gopi is an engineer turned food connoisseur. He grew up in Andhra Pradesh and is an electronics engineer from the University of Madras. He spent 10 years working in the IT industry, holding positions at Symphony Services and Oracle, among others. However, he always had the spirit of an entrepreneur.
He quickly came to the realization that food and culinary studies were his true passion, which inspired him to leave his corporate job and begin his entrepreneurial career in the food industry.
He believes that eating brings people together and that the finest talks are had while eating. According to him, food is the ultimate social lubricant and the ideal catalyst, making it the best method to interact and engage with family and friends. Food makes it easier to socialize with new people.
He believes that food is an artistic creation that should be embraced and savored by everybody. He is certain that families should prepare meals together more frequently than simply on Sundays, and that everyone should take an active role.
Spending time together in a nice kitchen is a terrific way to connect and have fun.
Culinary Beginnings
Gopi began his culinary career in 2014 with the award-winning start-up Feazt, a communal dining platform. This was a novel endeavor where the focus was on fostering relationships with friends and even total strangers via meals.
With the help of Feazt, people may chat with friends, acquaintances, and total strangers while enjoying a home-cooked dinner. The Feazt experience was the ultimate formula for joy and happiness because of its fascinating events, engaging people, delicious home-cooked cuisine, and stimulating conversations.
Given the significance of culinary instruction for kids, Gopi launched Orange Figs with the aim of promoting kids’ overall development via culinary activities.
In order to promote baking as a tool for socio-emotional development and provide a pleasurable learning environment for each child utilizing the platform, Gopi is now aiming to collaborate with schools and connect with parents.
He also assembled a group of people that are fully committed to enhancing the reputation of the business. Gopi strongly favors a flat hierarchy and treats all of the staff equally.
