The Story Behind The Flowers
Orchid-Tree was formed in December 2012 to spread orchid cultivation’s enthusiasm and joy across the country. The purpose was to allow orchid aficionados in India to have access to rare and uncommon orchid varieties.
Back in 2012, Rejin Jayarajan (Co-Founder) came across Mamta Bargale’s (Co-Founder) firm, ‘Greener Pastures,’ which offered landscape design on Facebook. As a consequence of the founders’ love and enthusiasm for orchids, Orchid-Tree was formed.
Bargale chose to convert her hobby into a career in 2012, after dabbling with fashion and interior design. She was taken over by the beauty of orchids while on vacation in Thailand in 2007 and returned with five plants. Today, her collection has grown to 150+ orchids.
For the longest time, Founder Jayarajan was surrounded by orchids. His father, an avid orchid collector, introduced him to this beautiful world. During a trip to Thailand with his father, his passion was kindled and he started a tiny nursery. When Rejin saw how many people were interested in it, he decided to leave his job at an MNC to start his own orchid firm in Bangalore.
On March 14, 2014, Orchid-Tree launched India’s first orchid-exclusive website and has been delighting people globally with exotic and rare orchids ever since.

They effectively raised revenue year after year, with total sales of 2.4Cr in 2020, about five times that of 2013. According to the founders, Orchid-Tree wants to keep growing by diversifying into new products and services while increasing its current production and sales.
