Assembly Shark Tank Pitch and Updates
Aditya Khanna and Mohit Garg appeared on Shark Tank India season 3 and shared details about their luggage bag brand Assembly in a Match-off competition with a similar brand.
The founders started their pitch by sharing that their luggage brand is Indian and is giving tough competition to International brands. They have focused both on functionality and aesthetics to cater to a wider audience.
As per the founders, in the last 3 years, Assembly has helped more than 2 lac travelers with their products. They also have a vision to become India’s leading and thoughtful travel store in the next 2 to 5 years.
After that initial pitch, the founders demanded INR 85 Lakhs for 1% equity at a valuation of INR 85 crores.
After that, the Sharks started asking various questions about their brand:
- Vineeta Singh welcomed the founders and then asked them how they learned to manufacture high-quality travel bags in India.
- Anupam Mittal told everyone that he had connected once with them earlier and ordered their products. He also shared that there were some quality issues in the bag at that time.
- Ritesh Agarwal asked the founders to show their products once so that they could check them out.
- Namita Thapar was interested to know about their competitors and how they are positioning themselves in the market.
- Aman Gupta also wanted to know their USP and even told them that their designs were not that good overall.
- The Sharks also discussed their business revenue and overall comparison in terms of pricing with other brands.
As it was a match-off between the two brands, the Sharks had to hold their investment offers till they reviewed both brands. After reviewing the other brand, the founders were able to receive only one investment offer from Anupam Mittal with a mix of equity and royalty. In the end, the founders didn’t accept the offer and were not able to close the deal.
