Home decor is a rapidly expanding and one of the quickest rebounding industries since the pandemic.
Due to a post-Covid shift, there’s been a change in consumer thinking and spending patterns. For example, a large portion of their savings has shifted from traveling to other things.
Consumers have been investing more in their home furnishings and décor due to an exponential increase in the time, people spend at home and as a result of increasingly regulated hygiene and housekeeping routines.
India’s online furniture and decor industry is expected to reach $40 billion in the next five years, according to the latest reports.
This category majorly includes home décor, furniture, bedding, and lights, among other niches. Online sales in this sector are predicted to expand at a booming 39% CAGR over the next five years. In the same amount of time, there will be a 1.8x year by year increase in spending per shopper for these goods.
Nestasia, a rapidly growing home decor company, shares its story from conception to today. Nestasia brings together the culture of different countries and the elegance of artisanal home decor.
Inspiration From Around The World
Aditi Murarka Agrawal and Anurag Agrawal were working in Singapore and Hong Kong when they decided to start their own business based in India.
Nestasia was born out of their travels around Southeast Asia, including Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines.
The duo discovered that each country has its own culture that was expressed in the people’s daily lives and belongings. They felt the warmth and brightness of handmade wicker baskets, intricately carved clay pots, bamboo bowls, and colorful brooms were things that Indians would love.
Nestasia was born as a result! The founders wanted to curate artisanal Home Décor through Nestasia that combined these countries’ cultures and techniques with contemporary vibes, and local, natural materials into the perfect range of products that will speak to your soul.
Making The Dream Real
Nestasia began its journey in late 2019 in a modest office in Kolkata. It has now expanded from a two-person operation to a 100-person organization.
Nestasia’s motto is “Make Home Special”, a sentiment that is even more relevant since the pandemic. The goal is to make each home unique to the owner’s preferences and style. From its warehouses in Kolkata and Delhi, it ships pan-India, with a youthful and motivated workforce assisting us along the way.
During their two-year journey through Southeast Asia, our founders built three homes from the ground up. They quickly recognized how enthusiastic they were about settling into their new house and making it their own. They truly loved the process of selecting the appropriate things. They had the notion to create an interesting destination for all things related to home.
As a result, Nestasia features a wide choice of distinctive, design-led, on-trend goods to make home exceptional, from dinnerware to home décor and soft furnishings.
A Fresh Presence
The core team at Nestasia is made up of young, dynamic talent. The company’s new and young vibe is reflected in its products as well. Nestasia aspires to be a content-driven, digital-first brand, and the whole creative team, which includes highly skilled copywriters, photographers, and graphic designers, works together to brainstorm and co-create.
A Peek Into The Culture
Nestasia lives by the phrase “Make Home Special,” which it uses to honor creativity and originality. It includes products stylized in different cultures including Contemporary, Scandinavian, Bohemian, Minimalist, Eclectic, and more.
Ceramicware, glassware, soft furnishings, bath necessities, planters, and artificial flowers are among the company’s offerings, all of which have been molded, woven, and crafted to perfection.
Nestasia is the one-stop-shop for making your house a sanctuary of beauty and utility, whether it’s a sleek mug to take on the go, gold plated china for festive fine-dining, or planters and vases to offer a home for those vivid blossoms.
Nestasia provides goods that are the result of meticulous selection, beautifully mixing style and culture in a quest to create an environment that not only woos your visitors but also creates a warm corner of delight for you.
Growth, Now And In The Future
Despite starting off during the pandemic, Nestasia has successfully served 1.5 lakh customers in the last 18 months, which is ten times greater than the previous two years.
The founders intend to gradually increase Nestasia’s reach, with the goal to serve 1 million households by 2025. The company collaborates closely with craftsmen both inside and outside of India to create a one-of-a-kind, high-quality product range. It has recently debuted its first in-house design, vegan leather travel kits.
Nestasia hopes to inspire people to make the most of their homes and help them set up the place to their heart’s desire.
“We believe home is the most special place one has, we want to ensure a way to incorporate joy and fun to a home as well as making it a breeze when upgrading a home with on-trend and high-quality design.”
